In Chapter One of the book Good Reasons (2010) the author break down and explain the differences that separate normal arguments from arguing in a college level paper.  The things they have brought out that make up this huge difference are, credible research, arguing responsibly, expanding the reader's knowledge of the subject with the detail of your analysis and many other reasons.  This chapter was created in order to identify the skills of writing the readers will need to perfect in order to adequately persuade their audience with the arguments they pose.
